This Tennis Game Organizer Application has been written to run Offline
in the Chrome , MS Edge, and Firefox Browsers. There is an online
version available for quick evaluation purposes, but this essentially
runs Offline once the Browser Apps Home page has been loaded into
the Browser.
It was envisaged that this App. would run on a Laptop or an OLD
Computer. The Laptop or OLD Computer would plug into an OLD 42 inch
or larger Flat Screen TV. There must be plenty of these OLD TV's lying
around doing nothing and be free to use.
The zip file contains all that is required to run the App.
You will have noticed that the zip file contains two Folders. The
contents of these two folders are required by the App. In the
wpimages folder there is a file named "Logo.jpg" . This can be replaced
by your own Logo.jpg file. The space on the Web Page can accommodate
Square or Oblong Logo. However the space provided has an aspec ratio of
approximately 2 x 1. Your Logo file can be any size but will be compressed
down to a Maximum width of 140 pixels, while maintaining to original aspect
ratio of your Logo file.
To start the allpication, just double click on the index.html file. This
will start up your Default Browser and display the applications home page.
How to use this application
On the left hand side of the page is where you add your players for the day.
That Parameter of 1 or 2 can stand for Level of Player, Sex of player or anything
else you can think of. You can build up to 3 Rounds. The maximum number of
players you can add is 32. The Maximum number of Courts is 8. This app. does not
cater for a situation where you have more players than you have Courts for. That
will come at a future date.
When building up Rounds it alocates the Players in a Random manner, but does
match up Parameter 1 and 2 players until that mixed combination are exhausted,
then it alocates whats left, which would normally be a Game of all Paramenter
1 players. In the three Rounds no player will play with the same player again.
There are 2 Building Options available
.
Option 1, Random:
With this option you Build 3 Rounds, and all three rounds are unique and
no player will play with the same partner. Parameter 1 & 2 players will
assigned as partners until either is exhausted, the remainder of the Games
will be normally made up of Parameter 1 players.
Option 2, Manual:
With this option you manually build the First Round by clicking on the
players Checkbox, and this will put them into a Court. They go on to
the Courts in a sequential fashion and you must fill either, 3, 4, 5, 6,
or 7 Courts. The Following 2 manual rounds are built using a Fixed formula.
This is Fixed Random, if you like. If a Court is unbalanced them players
are advised to swap around within their Court.
Option 2a, Manual/Random:
This is similar to Option 2 except that you can Build Rounds 2 and 3 to
be Random, much like in Option 1. You setup Round 1, the App. then builds
Rounds 2 & 3 in a Random manner as in Option 1. Once again no two players
will be partnered up twice.
